whats the name of a bug that lives in a flat rock looking shell?
A year ago I found a weird insect in my back yard. it looks like a flat rock (smaller than a penny) but it has a tiny hole on 2 ends and the insect sticks its head out from either side. Two days ago I found another one in my kitchen and i squeezed it a little with tweezers and it wasn’t hard. Does anyone know what im talking about? Its weird and would like to know the name of it.

What to see with one night in DC?
Im going to DC for a night (Sofitel hotel lafayette square) in mid feburary for a valentines day/anniversary thing, and as you probably know there is more to do in DC than you could possible do in that amount of time. We plan to arrive in DC early on a saturday morning and leave in the afternoon sunday. I have never been before so i am wondering what are the best monuments/museums to visit, and which are overhyped. We wanted to go to the zoo but i have heard its not worth spending your time there, and other than that the only set in stone thing we want to do is go ice skating at the sculpture gardens. So we are kind of open after that, whats the best to see, and what should I avoid? Also if you have any suggestions to a fairly nice restaurant we could go to for dinner, throw it in.
Try visiting at least one of the Smithsonian museums. If it is a nice day, walk down the National Mall and visit the Lincoln and World War II memorials. Take a tour of the Capital if you have time.

I would walk around the Mall (see the monuments and go inside to the free museums when you get cold). The Air and Space or the Museum of Natural History would be good. You could even have a sweet ride on the outdoor carousel. After that, I would change and take the downtown Spirit cruise, which will provide a yummy meal, entertainment, some dancing, and beautiful views. Nearby the Spirit cruises is Philips Seafood Restaurant, which is also fairly nice.
The zoo is fine, but most animals aren’t out in the cold and I have seen much better zoos in other cities…although it is free!

I don’t think the zoo is overrated so don’t count it out if you are a fan of zoos but it might be awfully cold in February.
I would suggest the Natural History museum if I had to pick one place to visit.
Restaurants I’d suggest are Cafe Atlantico or Oyamel in Penn Quarter or Potenza which is right across the street from your hotel.

Check out the Smithsonian’s web page and take a look at the museums that are listed and then pick out a couple that you’d enjoy visiting based on your personal preferences. My suggestion would be the American History Museum, as I am always fascinated by their displays. I would also suggest a visit to the National Archives, as well walking around the White House.
If you have the opportunity to view the monuments on The Mall that evening…they are a spectacular sight. My choice for two must sees would be the Viet Nam Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. You’ll also see Washington Monument, World War II Memorial and Korean War Memorial as they are all located close together at the west end of the Mall.
Hope you enjoy…and wear comfortable walking shoes!!

Please critique this small paragraph of my story.?
Okay this is the beginning of my third chapter and I wanted to know what you though of it and if you could help me revise the dialogue so it sounds more fluid? thx!
The blazing heat swarmed him as the stench of burning flesh welcomed him back home. He skulked through the maze of corridors until the correct door presented itself. It creaked open with a reluctant moan from the rotting wood as he pushed his way inside the small dim lit room. Leaving the door open he continued on across the empty space to the handle that stuck out from the wall. Jerking at it a couple times along with one simple pound on the door did the trick. It opened and the light from the previous room poured in. A shadowy figure that was barley visible crept along the opposite wall, but Draven knew exactly what it was or rather who. Confidence building Draven approached the dark figure.
