Is the new Mitsubishi outlander a good buy?
Or at least better than the Toyota Rav4 ?
Mitsubishi has always made good reliable cars and i would definitely say it is a better buy than a Rav4

Would Jim Royle make a good MP?
Ricky Tomlinson has announced he is thinking of standing for election in Liverpool Wavertree partly in protest at the MP’s expense scandal, but mainly because the chosen Labour candidate, Luciana Berger, has been foisted on the constituency. A London Lawyer she is tipped for high office in the Labour party, but has no local roots, and spectacularly failed a quiz about Liverpool asked by the local newspaper.
Do you think Jim Royal would represent the constituents better than a London lawyer who has no interest other than the size of the majority of the seat? Would he be like Dennis Skinner, the Beast of Bolsover, who is now one of the most respected MP’s in parliament.

I don’t particularly like his politics, but I think parliament is too full of lawyers and career politicians. We need more plain speakers like Skinner, Bessie Bradock etc.
I think he was outed about the NF around 2 years ago, but he is up front about it now

Critiques for a poem with a dark and a light side please?
[Title] And Jesus Is Your name
In open fields where dandelions grow
The shadow walks in time with vacant stillness
A drea so distant, haunts him like a ghost
Its silken shroud is woven on his skin
What airy thoughts torment his weary soul
Like jagged rock upon the brittle pathway
What could it be that lets its fury show
The judgement courts are drumming on the past
He reminisces that dark and stormy night
The lions growled, the thunder roared
And lightning struck him down
Come forth, come out
Phantom beast, come out
I rage a war, I place a charge upon your face
You cannot hide your arrogant disgrace
I scream against your name
Your fame is sinful shame
And Satan is your name
Within the sky and somewhere past the moon
There stands a figure, taller than the blackness
A beam of daylight shines through all the gloom
That shadow breaks into a frightened man
A simple word is spoken unto him
"Be not afraid, for heaven knows your sorrow."
"Believe that I shall break your chain at will."
Then suddenly, he hears that holy voice
It speaks with passion, flare and angered tone
The devil cringes, demons shrill
Do you know what He said
He says "Come forth, come out!
Phantom beast, come out!
You rage a war, I strike you down into the stone!
You cannot hide what I’ve always known!
I scream a judgement of your name!
Your fame is sinful shame,
and Satan is your name!"
What can I do when darkness covers me
My God, You are my strength to me
And my light to shine today
I shout "Come forth, come out!
Phantom beast, come out!
You rage a war, I strike you down into the stone!
You cannot hide what I’ve always known!
I scream a judgement of your name!
Your fame is sinful shame,
and Satan is your name!"
I scream "Come Lord, come here
Mighty God, come here
We rage a war, we strike this devil down with pride
This sword of death can no longer hide
I shout for joy, Your holy name
your fame is bringing devils to their shame
and victory for truth and light, You claim
and Jesus is Your name!"
"Jesus is Your name!"

This one starts off in a much darker and more sinister tone than most of my previous writings and I’ve got to be honest, it hits very close to home with me. The story behind it is as follows:
A Christian struggling to find strength to keep the faith, I would take the time when out and about to host debates in my heart, mind and soul between God and Satan. There is this field about 15 minutes from my house that is always covered with dandelions at about this time of year. This field, with a good open view of the setting sun is where I found my inspiration and is also where I think I closed my debate and finally found my strength in Jesus, the strength I was looking for. I wrote a vivid poem to describe the emotion behind it. "The shadow" is me.
I had been longing to read a poem like this. This is just so beautiful! You have been gifted Adam and such poems reflect it. I haven’t been answering you for long as I feel that someone really good at poetry should critique yours. I believe this one is perfect. Reading the story behind it just made me understand it better. I believe the strength is within us, Jesus just helps us to find it, all we need to do is have faith.
Good Day!

This is the second time this has happened to me in the past year, it used to happen about 4+ years ago more often along with other things, but since then I have not had a lot of contact with others…..Whilst reading this I got chills through out, literal goosebumps that came and went…I think it is was this….
I shout "Come forth, come out!
Phantom beast, come out!
You rage a war, I strike you down into the stone!
You cannot hide what I’ve always known!
I scream a judgment of your name!
Your fame is sinful shame,
and Satan is your name!"

Good read recommendations!?
What are some good books to read? (No twilight saga books!!!!!!!)
These are mine, if you care to have a good read:
Runaway By Wendelin Van Draanen **
Wayne By Wayne Theodore
Waiting With Gabriel By Amy Kuebelbeck
The Memory Keeper’s Daughter By Kim Edwards **
The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls
A Child Called ‘It’ By David Pelzer
The Lost Boy By David Pelzer
A Man Named Dave By David Pelzer
Anne Frank By Anne Frank
Beautiful Boy By David Sheff
Tweak By Nic Sheff **
Dewey By Vicki Myron
Push By Sapphire **
The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe By J. Randy Taraborrelli
Those Who Save Us By Jenna Blum
My Enemy’s Cradle By Sarah Young **
My Lobotomy By Howard Dully
Driving With Dead People By Monica Holloway
**These are my favs!
Those are really good recommendations! I have read all the books by David Pelzer (had to-was a psych. major) I think that you have to keep yourself in a certain mindset while reading them or else you are going to be extremely depressed for a while.
I love all sorts of genres but here are some of my current reads:
1984 by George Orwell
Dante’s Inferno by Dante Alighieri (the whole story would be The Divine Comedy)
The Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom Series by Julie Kenner (techincally a chick-lit but f-ing hilarious)
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen
and many others…
I do admit to reading some vampire books but I agree with you, I am tired of the Twilight craziness. Vampire Academy is a sh** ton better. Richelle Mead is the author and she has two other series out that are actual adult books. You should try out the Georgina Kincaid series if you want to read her work. They are extremely funny and action packed.

Sorry, but my "good read" list consists mainly of NON-fiction reading… topics that are of "immediate" interest to me, or politics and economics. I cannot recall the last fiction book I read… I THINK it was the Exorcist in high school as assigned reading.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

How do I breed my Dachshund with my German Shepherd?
Since there are all these popular new "breeds" what do you think I could call them. I want to get in on the quick cash everyone is making on the new designer dogs and I think doxie/shepherd crosses will be awesome. Also do you think it would hurt my Dachshund to have the Shepherd puppies? My Dachshund(mother) is 11 pounds and my Shepherd is 88 pounds. Is 5 weeks too early to find them homes?
I forgot to ask how much should I charge for my awesome new puppies? And I really need a name for this new breed.
For all of you telling me not to breed stop it becasue I am only going to breed her one time ……. after another and then I will keep a female pup to start over with. I am not in this for the money I love my dogs and I just want others to have an affordable puppy.
OOhhhhhhhhhh, I want one! I was thinking of breeding my Shih Tzu with a Jack Russell. That way people here will start to know Jack Shih, since obviously most of them don’t!!!!

Just watch out for dysplastic weenies. ; )
Edit: For those of you freaking out….look up the word "sarcasm". I believe the original poster was making a point of how ridiclous this whole "designer mutt" fad is….
rollin_indahay | Jun 19, 2007
That cross is knid of cruel to your dachshund. but if it were the other way around it might be better. And also dont breed dogs fdor money. You shoudl truely care about an individual breed and want to make it better. And puppies shouldnt leave their mother until 8 weeks. And the puppies have to have their first shots at around 8 weeks before they can go into a home anyways.

If you’re NOT kidding, then you are one of the the most stupid people around.
mamanook | Jun 19, 2007
don’t breed them. if you properly care for the mom during her pregnancy which considering your doxie will probably have to have a c-section (the pups will probably be too big to birth naturally) will negate any profits you would make selling the pups.
there are too many unwanted animals in the world to breed them for money…
until there are none, adopt one.
PLEASE SPAY /NEUTER YOUR PET

Tirya | Jun 19, 2007
This is wrong in many ways (trying to cash in) but if you really want to do this (please think of the dogs) then I would tell you to have a Female German Shepherd and a Male Dachshund. Think about the poor mama that has to birth them!
Kristin H | Jun 19, 2007
As I know you are not irresponsible like that I will not jump on you for the question..lol Some people would really be dumb enough to try it tho. I wish people would wise up aboput the "designer breed" fad. Everyone thinks they can breed these mutts and make a million dollars.
chihuahua mama | Jun 19, 2007
Oh darn I had this whole thing pictured in my mind with the Dachshund on a little platform trying to get the job done but you made the Doxi a girl. LOL
Absurd isn’t it! If people need extra money why dont they just get a job. I hear McDonald’s will hire anyone or even WalMart!
Have a good one.
Goldengal | Jun 19, 2007
why would you want to create more mutts? You they are cute, but, thousands of cute mutts die every day in shelters because of lack of homes.
A small dog cannot give birth naturally to large breed puppies, a cecarian would be necessary, and expensive. Do you have at least $1,000 + laying around to cover that?
Please spay and neuter your pets.
BTW, 5 weeks is way too early. In some states its illegal to sell a puppy younger than 8 weeks.
nekkiddoglady | Jun 19, 2007
Visit a shelter and see all the dogs who need homes—-and will be euthanized due to lack of space & people like you, interested in "quick cash".
In case you are serious—the mother dog would not survive the pregnancy. And it is illegal to take pups away from the mom prior to 8 weeks, 10 is preferable.
I think you should surrender both of your dogs to rescue groups, because it’s EVIDENT you don’t really care about their health & well being.
tina in fla | Jun 19, 2007
You can call it a Dachman :]
LOLOLOL
There are too many questions like that on here that now I KNOW why I see so many dogs and cats in shelters.
I agree with Golden — have people ever heard of the word JOB?!
Thanks for giving me a laught tonight, I needed it.
Is it just me? Or has there been more ‘how do I breed my dog’ and ‘where can I get a teacup ___?" questions than usual?

Thanks again for the laugh :]

sweetsinn | Jun 19, 2007
If your German Shepherd were female it might be safe enough to mix these breeds but vice-versa, No. It could very well kill your Doxie. This would not make good looking pups and they would probably be hard to find homes for. There are to many homeless animals without us creating more on purpose. If you want to do something worthwhile for your animals, get them both fixed.

Mr. Z | Jun 19, 2007
I dont know about all of that.. lol! I dont think that would work out well for your doxie at all! It would be better (safer) if the female was the larger breed seeing as how she as to carry the pups.. you know??
Oh and 5 weeks is way, way too young to take puppies from their mother. The pups NEED to be atleast 8 weeks old before you can send them to their new homes.
Good luck! : )
pitbullmommie122106 | Jun 19, 2007
UHH.. duh you don’t. Small breeds don’t breed with large breeds, it can hurt the doxie and the puppies will have medical complecations.
Scout | Jun 19, 2007
first thing off the bat….yes it would definitely hurt your dachshund to have the shepherd puppies, might even kill her. i understand you want to get in on the quick cash everyone is making on designer dogs….but make them size compatible…breed a small dog with another small one…medium sized with another medium sized etc….not large dog with a small dog…your putting pet lives at stake when you experiment with sizes that dont work.
joy b | Jun 19, 2007
That is a good joke thats about it, and you know it.
Lilly | Jun 19, 2007
Well obviously you know nothing about breeding dogs first off. If you breed them your dachshund for sure would end up needing surgery or die from the strain on her organs from the size of the puppies that it would create. Next off yes 5 weeks is too early to find them homes. No earlier then 8 weeks is what is the law. If you want to make a quick buck why not breed yourself to your german Shepard. You shouldn’t be owning a dog much less thinking about breeding one.
robin f | Jun 19, 2007
First off.. the designer dogs have been bred in a program so that finally a stabilized look has been obtained for the ***new designer*** breed/ or breeds – it is not exactly a hit or miss action going on here..
A so called back yard breeding which you would like to do is just that ***a back yard breeding***.
Next, What do you think will happen to your 11 lb Dachshund if it tries to pass a puppy the size of a shepherd puppy… Do you mind blood & guss???
Lastly, who will you get to give you any big bucks for these puppies…
take a good luck at it.. lots of vet bills plus probably a C-section birth if you don’t want to kill your dachshund but it will probably die anyway… Poor Baby= I feel so sorry for her.
I usually sign off saying Good Luck but NOT in your case.

Hi! I don’t know the "how", but I know it can be done. When I was 6 we thought we were going to get a dachshund puppy. We were all surprised when the puppies appeared dachshund size, but looking just like a German shepherd. "Luv" (OK, it was the 60s) looked similar to a long-haired dachshund, but her nose and tail more closely resembled the shepherd. She was one of the best pets I’ve had and lived to be 15.
Good luck!

I am going to assume that you are totally kidding here.
I would go with a German Dachsherd as the name of the mixed breed. How designer is that??!!

Don’t do it! I had a mid-sized dog growing up who was impregnanted by a Lab, she could not give birth the puppies were too big and after the 4th was born her uterus ripped and she bled to death!
forget designer breeds, if you wish to breed dogs get 2 that are compatible in size and weight.

And to think all these years I’ve been working my tail off when I could’ve just stayed home and made money selling my two favorite breeds rolled into one! LOL!
Don’t forget to point out to all potential new owners the advantages of having a more powerful, protective dog with the"selective hearing" known to dachshunds. Why not go the whole route and make sure they enroll them in Schutzhund training? You could have a tracking dog who will track every animal in the forest and roll in every spot of bird poop before he gets to his prize. And then there’s the protection phase. Anything that is part dachshund will certainly receive the ultimate back and neck workout hanging in mid air swinging around from a padded sleeve.
By the way, no offense to any well-trained dachshunds with their awesome noses who are actually trained to track or to anyone in Schutzhund, which is the ultimate sport. As a long time owner and admirer of both breeds, each with their own unique capabilities, your point was loud and clear. Good one!

What futuristic movie from the 80s was most accurate?
If you grew up in the 80’s, like I did, you’ll remember all the wildly futuristic movie starring Arnold and Sly Stalone to name two. You may remember movies like: Total Recall, The Running Man, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, Blade Runner (70’s), Tron, Back to the future Trilogy, Space Hunter, Enemy Mine, just to name a few.
If you’re familiar with any of those movies you’ll find a lot of humor in their premonitions of the future. Demolition Man is one of my favorite’s. As a whimsical joke John Spartan(Sly Stalone) "In the 80’s everyone had killer character name’s like JOHN SPARTAN!" But anyway, John Spartan is shocked to find out, after being frozen for 30 years, that Arnold Swartzenager was president, Taco Bell is the only fast food restaurant left, and L.A. is a heavily gated utopian society policed buy cops that would make a boy scout look like a Mob boss. But all this is disrupted when Simone Phenix (Wesley Snipes) "Another Cool Name" reemerges from cryostasis as a wildly sinister but yet very humorous killer that John Spartan must -again – Stop.
The Running Man is also a funny movie in that it predicts that in the future [2017] Media will be manipulated to create false stories convincing the pacified industrialized public to believe in the guilt or innocence’s of a person to justify subjecting them to ‘The Number One Television Show’ – "The Running Man" Where they are hunted down and killed live on TV for the amusement of the public.
While on the subject of old movies, If you ever get a chance to see the movie "Critters" you’ll see the lamest movie intro to a B sci-fi movie that "I’ve" ever seen. The space bounty hunters are also pretty goofy, Especially sense they used the fact that they morph there faces to blend in better but still wear these wildly impractical space suits with killer potato guns and gardening gloves with their finger tips cut-off.
Blade Runner is very realistic. Not in terms of the replicants but in terms of predicting the influence China would end up having on the world. Also predicting fake mass-produced items flooding the markets. It hasn’t quite come down to snakes yet, but it’s getting close. And you never know… they might still be able to make humanoids and flying cars in the future.
