Girl, Interrupted (1999)

IMDB rating: 7.00

Plot: Susanna is rushed to the hospital. Afterwards she discusses this with a psychiatrist. She had been having some delusions. She had also been having an affair with the husband of her parents’ friend. The doctor suggests that combining a bottle of aspirin and a bottle of vodka was a suicide attempt. This she denies. He recommends a short period of rest at Claymoore. Claymoore is a private mental hospital full of noisy, crazy people. Georgina is a pathological liar. Polly has been badly scarred by fire. Daisy won’t eat in the presence of other people. Lisa is a sociopath, the biggest exasperation for the staff – like Nurse Valerie – and the biggest influence on the other girls in the hospital. Lisa has a history of escapes, so gaining access to personal medical files is not a problem… Susanna’s boyfriend Toby is concerned that she seems too comfortable living with her institutionalized friends…

Dracula 3000 (2004)

IMDB rating: 1.90

Plot: One thousand years into the future, and somewhere in the far reaches of outer space, a terrifying legend lives on. It’s the year 3000 AD. A salvage ship on a routine interstellar mission discovers the drifting, silent hulk of the off-world space transporter Demeter, reported missing 100 years earlier. Excited by the prospects of quick financial gain from towing back and trading in the old vessel, Mina, Van Helsing and the rest of their crew boldly board the abandoned ship, hoping to recover any valuable freight left onboard. But as they explore its cold, empty passageways, they become aware of a terrible secret. First Mina uncovers Demeter’s mysterious cargo – 50 long, black coffins. Then, one by one the crew begins to disappear or turn against one another, until there can be no doubt that an ancient curse lives on in the bowels of this once-great ship, awaiting its next victim. In the blackness of space the sun never rises, the ideal environment for the immortal vampire to spread his evil. For the survivors, the only hope for salvation is a desperate race across the universe, rocketing at the speed of light, praying that they’ll reach the welcoming rays of the Twin Suns of Halbron…before it’s too late.

Has anyone the movie Dracula 3000?
That movie was the worst, and yet FUNNIEST movie I’ve ever seen. Jesus Christ it was hilarious! I mean I thought it was going to be scary but instead it was horribly lame. The vampire was dressed up as if he crawled out of an old time movie with the red cape, and white make up, and black slicked hair.. Ewww.. But on the flip side it was funny because Kooio or whatever that rapers name was in there. When he talks I just couldn’t help but laugh.
Man what were these people thinking when they made this movie? It was more like a spoof than anything! xD

If you haven’t seen it Youtube it and they show clips of the parts in there. The end where Dracula gets his arm ripped off from a door I couldn’t breathe because it was so funny how he was screaming. Wow, lame movie. What did anyone else think?

I never knew that movie existed!!!
But it sounds like a really good movie.
If it does exist let me know!!!
I would go and see it definately

What do think about the late great Douglas Adams view on where the idea of God came from?
Sorry about the length but it’s a good read if you’ve not read it before. Christians, feel free to give me your well-informed views without reading it:

Where does the idea of God come from? Well, I think we have a very skewed point of view on an awful lot of things, but let’s try and see where our point of view comes from. Imagine early man. Early man is, like everything else, an evolved creature and he finds himself in a world that he’s begun to take a little charge of; he’s begun to be a tool-maker, a changer of his environment with the tools that he’s made and he makes tools, when he does, in order to make changes in his environment. To give an example of the way man operates compared to other animals, consider speciation, which, as we know, tends to occur when a small group of animals gets separated from the rest of the herd by some geological upheaval, population pressure, food shortage or whatever and finds itself in a new environment with maybe something different going on. Take a very simple example; maybe a bunch of animals suddenly finds itself in a place where the weather is rather colder. We know that in a few generations those genes which favour a thicker coat will have come to the fore and we’ll come and we’ll find that the animals have now got thicker coats. Early man, who’s a tool maker, doesn’t have to do this: he can inhabit an extraordinarily wide range of habitats on earth, from tundra to the Gobi Desert – he even manages to live in New York for heaven’s sake – and the reason is that when he arrives in a new environment he doesn’t have to wait for several generations; if he arrives in a colder environment and sees an animal that has those genes which favour a thicker coat, he says "I’ll have it off him". Tools have enabled us to think intentionally, to make things and to do things to create a world that fits us better. Now imagine an early man surveying his surroundings at the end of a happy day’s tool making. He looks around and he sees a world which pleases him mightily: behind him are mountains with caves in – mountains are great because you can go and hide in the caves and you are out of the rain and the bears can’t get you; in front of him there’s the forest – it’s got nuts and berries and delicious food; there’s a stream going by, which is full of water – water’s delicious to drink, you can float your boats in it and do all sorts of stuff with it; here’s cousin Ug and he’s caught a mammoth – mammoth’s are great, you can eat them, you can wear their coats, you can use their bones to create weapons to catch other mammoths. I mean this is a great world, it’s fantastic. But our early man has a moment to reflect and he thinks to himself, ‘well, this is an interesting world that I find myself in’ and then he asks himself a very treacherous question, a question which is totally meaningless and fallacious, but only comes about because of the nature of the sort of person he is, the sort of person he has evolved into and the sort of person who has thrived because he thinks this particular way. Man the maker looks at his world and says ‘So who made this then?’ Who made this? – you can see why it’s a treacherous question. Early man thinks, ‘Well, because there’s only one sort of being I know about who makes things, whoever made all this must therefore be a much bigger, much more powerful and necessarily invisible, one of me and because I tend to be the strong one who does all the stuff, he’s probably male’. And so we have the idea of a god. Then, because when we make things we do it with the intention of doing something with them, early man asks himself , ‘If he made it, what did he make it for?’ Now the real trap springs, because early man is thinking, ‘This world fits me very well. Here are all these things that support me and feed me and look after me; yes, this world fits me nicely’ and he reaches the inescapable conclusion that whoever made it, made it for him.

This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in – an interesting hole I find myself in – fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for. We all know that at some point in the future the Universe will come to an end and at some other point, considerably in advance from that but still not immediately pressing, the sun will explode. We feel there’s plenty of time to worry about that, but on the other hand that’s a very dangerous thing to say. I think that we need to tak

Seems reasonable.

"Early man is, like everything else, an evolved creature…"

There is your fatal mistake and why you have this misunderstanding. As for Douglas Adams? I hope he was saved, but the fruits of his life suggest otherwise.

married men plz come to my rescue.?

i am married for some months now, and i see this weird thing in my husband. he is happy when i cook goodfood and endup having good sex.
the days when i am ill and cant cook he gets wild and doesn’t talk with me much. and makes up silly reasons and goes to sleep soon.
when i confront this behavior he tells me he is ok with whatever i cook. and sometimes he complains that my cooking is boring.. i have been cooking variety of food to please his appetite right from the day i have married him. i dont even ask him to buy anything for me or he doesn’t even buy me a flower on occasions. and i know i shouldn’t complain but still i feel bad
now my question is why does he act so weird?
mine was an arranged marriage, so there is no point in having known this behavior of his early. and now dont say divorce and stuff because my culture doesn’t let us do that. at times i feel he has married me to cook food…

You’re telling me that he’d rather have good food over good sex?

Smoker06 | Apr 18, 2008

TEACH HIM HE IS TO RESPECT YOU IF HE WANTS A GOOD MEAL..AND DONT FORGET THE FLOWER YOU UNSELFISH S O B
shayhi | Apr 18, 2008

If it was arranged that is most likely why he married you. He wanted someone to take care of him.
Buttercup | Apr 18, 2008

Keep cooking what he likes…simple.
If you are not working, your job is to maintain the home and cook. So, give the man what he likes.
ted.stryker | Apr 18, 2008

Men like food and sex.
SimplyLovely | Apr 18, 2008

food/sex or sex/food????

he acts weird maybe because this is an arranged marriage and somedays he is okay with it and other days he is not. or maybe his underware is rising up and strangling his danglers. who cares.
Dove | Apr 18, 2008

maybe he has married you to cook good food. if you get better outcomes from him when you cook good food, then cook good food.
chas | Apr 18, 2008

He did marry you to cook food, to give good sex and tidy the house. Seems you can’t do anything about, I would have an affair or maybe stop cooking until he appreciated me.
Issy K | Apr 18, 2008

Tell him to stop being a fatty! If he thinks your cooking is not " good" then have him cook something for you guys, then he will notice how much he shoould appreciate your cooking.

On the other hands for good food = good sex, that is a bit odd.
Mr.Chavez | Apr 18, 2008

Hunny, I am not a man but I have some advice. Its that you took the time to cook him something, what you put into the meal is something he appreciates. Its a turn on for him. You should ask him what kinds of foods he enjoys most that will help you. By the way you shouldn’t have to ask him to buy you something he should do it out of the goodness of his heart. Sounds like you need a heart to heart to get to know each others wants and needs. Good Luck
eeyore6838 | Apr 18, 2008

it’s an arranged marraige alright!!
well actually he does act weird.try askin him what’s d problem..
it’s just been a few months 4 u’r marraige,so just chill out 4 sometime.Maybe..he’s not that open in speaking on such things.
it will take him sometime…OR THERE MUST BE SOMETHING CONECTED 2 HIS PAST OR SOMTHING LIKE THAT………..
anyways gooooood luck :-)
hit me hard | Apr 18, 2008

Sorry, but this marriage is doomed to be a loveless relationship. I know you said it was arranged, so my advice is to make the best of a difficult situation. I don’t think your husband really was "in love" with you when he married you and probably you were not in love with him, so what you can both do is learn about each other. He seems like he could be a domineering and controlling husband which is probably what he saw growing up in his culture, so you can try to soften his behavior by being sweet to him. If this does not work, then you will be in a marriage that will be miserable for the rest of your life. How does a culture condone this? Don’t parents want their children to be happy? I just don’t understand. See what your parents have to say about your unhappiness. You have a right to happiness. Why should you live with someone who is nasty and uncaring?

tricky question for a spycholigist?
two guys grew up together, one was an ordinary decent criminal, the other was off the wall completely and had pleasure in voilence. after 40 years of knowing each other the spycho sells the ordinary guys kids drugs, the ordinary gut beats the spycho to a pulp in public and humiliates him, the spycho then lures the ordinary guy into a trap and murders him and burys his body in an unmarked grave leaving the body never to be found. The spycho knew the rest of the ordinary guys family not VERY well, but just knew them because they alll lived on the same street. the spycho has killed before and never hidden the bodies.. WHY in this case would you say that he has hidden the body to be never found??
i should of tought twice before i ut that question in the MENTAL HEALTH part.. look at the awnsers im getting lol….
take some prozak guys before you awnser my question CHEERS.

I’m not a real "spycholigist" but I play one on TV.
What the question again?

The Oracle | Feb 12, 2009

Maybe because he doesn’t know how to spell.
Also, the grave is unmarked.

Edit:
I just realize. You said he kills and don’t hide the bodies. But, now he hide the body. I think this is showing of respect for his friend. He buried his friend since he doesn’t want to compare him to the ones he has killed. His friend is very special to him. He’s a psycho killer, so the only solution he always see is to kill that’s why he killed his friend. He’s a killer so obviously he would put him in an unmarked grave.

I’m no psychologist but i’d like to take a stab (hehehe) at it.
He did it out of guilt.
The Psycho knew this victim and buried him as a way of forgetting this act.

I’m not a real spycholigist either but I also play one on tv but a different show than "The Oracle" I would have to read the script to give you the right answer. When I get a script like this I will answer your question.

Best Budget laptop to suit my needs?

I’m looking for a decent laptop for about $500-$600 that I can buy at a big box store like bestbuy, etc. I am an aspiring photographer, and take a LOT of photos, so a large hard drive is a must, a external one might not be out of the question. I also want something that multitasks well, so that I can run Photoshop CS4, Itunes, and be browsing several different web tabs without lag. Don’t need a webcam or any other gimmics like that. Would be nice to be able to run games also, don’t need a super computer though. I play Counter Strike, nothing that requires a computer thats capable of much.. Don’t hesitate mentioning black friday deals, I have no problems getting up for a good deal. Thanks in advance!
